Grateful thanks from Martin to the large turnouts for the recent working parties and I think that we are well and truly ready for the winter leagues.
A reminder that the Winter Season starts on Sunday 13th November, after the ceremony at the war memorial outside the club – and that Bath Lane will be closed to traffic from 10.30 to 11.30. So if you are keen to start play just after 11am you will need to arrive before 10.30am (and help set up the lawns), unless you can walk to the club. It looks like the weather will be fine.
We now have three lawns set up on the bowling green, imaginatively named 4, 5 and 6. Lawn 6 is the new longer and thinner lawn occupying most of what was empty space on the bowling green. It has been set up so that the following distances are the same as those on lawns 4 & 5: corners to corner hoops; corner hoops to adjacent centre hoops; centre hoops to peg.
Arthur has added lawn 6 to the booking system, and put on the Winter League sessions for Lawns 4, 5 and 6 on Sundays and Wednesdays 11am to 1pm from now until the end of February. The lawns are available for booking at other times using the Lawn Booking System.
