Mike O’Brian & Rupert Knapton won the club GC handicap doubles final against Arthur & Judith Rowe 7-5, 7-4, largely as a result of Mike’s exceptional shooting accuracy. In game 1 he ran hoop 12 from 6 yards to win a close game with all bisques gone. In game 2, Rupert’s black ball was stuck in the jaws of hoop 10, 5-4 up, with Arthur’s red ball poised to jump it from 18in straight in front. Mike hit the clearance shot with blue from 20 yards, to allow Rupert to then score the hoop for 6-4 with his two bisques still remaining. Congratulations to Mike and Rupert on a well-deserved victory.
