Two teams from Ashby played at the Kenilworth Festival, a friendly doubles competition organised for pairs with combined GC handicaps of 8 or more. It was very closely fought at the top, with three teams finishing on 5 wins, two of them being from Ashby.
Jane Tewson & Pete Bensley won, and Arthur Rowe & Jill Goodall were third, with only one hoop point separating each of the top three places. A good achievement for Pete and Jill playing in their first competition away from home.
On another topic, Rachel has won both the AC and GC club championships at Nottingham the same weekend, so has apparently recovered from the Covid she contracted the previous weekend.
