As last year, eight players entered the tournament (Martin also joined in… by playing two rounds in place of Lesley). The weather started off in an unpromising manner, but didn’t worsen and we even had a couple of bright spells.
There were six rounds of play against different opponents, with generous time limits of 50 minutes (none of the games ran out of time). Having defeated all of his opponents Arthur was the clear winner, regaining the trophy after 14 years. Runner-up with 5 wins and losing only to Arthur was Richard. Rupert came third, with 4 wins. A high proportion of games finished at the thirteenth hoop, indicating that realistic handicaps had been used. Andy Shipley enjoyed playing in his first tournament and was delighted to have won a game.
