Mon 7th June, Moira Managers: Rupert and Heather
After a year’s absence to the pandemic, Ashby once again hosted the East Midlands Veterans level-play tournament. Nine players took part on a gloriously sunny day, including Bob Potter who made the journey over from Woodhall Spa. In the all-play-all competition, Lesley L and Jane T played alternate games as a ‘team’. Games had a time limit of 45 minutes each.
The clear winner was Paul Durkin who remained unbeaten throughout, ending with 6 wins and 1 draw. Runner-up was Rupert with 5 wins, and Mick and Martin both finished on 4 wins.
