The East Midlands GC leagues are back for 2021 after the cancellation of last year’s leagues. This year we have two Ashby teams: the A team playing in Division 1 , and the B team in Division 2.
Ashby A’s first match was at home to a strong Sheffield side. Keith, Mick and Martin narrowly lost 5-7.
Ashby B’s team of Julie, Maurice and Lesley L won their first match of the season 7-5 at Moira against visitors Woodhall Spa.
Richard, Maurice and Lesley L then represented Ashby B in a match at Darley Dale. Ashby started emphatically, winning the first six games, but Darley Dale later recovered and won a clean sweep of games in the singles round after lunch. Final score: 8-4 to Ashby B.
